A great day out from Merlin Holiday Cottages is the market town of Llandeilo (18 miles).  This is the next town after Llandovery along the A40 and has great views over the River Towy and one of the great National Trust houses and parks in Wales, Dinefwr Park.  Llandeilo boasts a boutique shopping experience with award winning ice cream (2 mins video).   As well as the historic Newton House, Dinefwr has a stunning hilltop castle (1 min video)  with and a great park with  fallow dear (1 min video) and rare white cattle.

Helpful Hint:: National Trust Members have free entry to Dinefwr Park.  Other visitors can park in Llandeilo without charge and walk through the public footpaths to the Park.
